2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA). When the website is accessed, technically necessary data is processed (see server log files). The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable provision).

3. Server log files

When you visit the website, information transmitted by your browser is recorded automatically (including browser type, operating system, referrer URL, time of access and a shortened IP address). This data serves technical provision and security and is deleted automatically after a short time.

4. Getting in touch & appointment requests

If you contact us via the contact form, the booking assistant, email or telephone, we process the details you provide (e.g. name, email address, telephone number, your message and your preferred appointment) in order to handle and manage your enquiry or booking. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in efficient handling).

Delivery takes place server-side by email to us; for this we use the service provider Resend (Resend, Inc., USA), which may involve data being transferred to the USA. We also store your enquiry or appointment request in a database so that appointments and enquiries can be managed reliably. The database is provided by our database provider Neon and operated through our hosting provider Vercel.

How long we store data: We delete enquiries and appointment bookings no later than 24 months after receipt. This deadline is enforced technically — an automated process removes older entries from the database daily. This does not affect data we are required to keep for longer under statutory retention obligations (for example commercial and tax law); such data is blocked from further use and deleted once the period expires. If you would like earlier deletion, an informal message to info@westfaliadigital.de is enough.

5. Cookies & consent

This website uses technically necessary cookies and local storage that are required for operation (including remembering your cookie choice and your language selection). These do not require consent (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR).

Optional services in the “statistics” category are only loaded if you have expressly consented via our cookie notice (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TTDSG). Specifically, these are Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights (Vercel Inc., USA) for anonymous reach and performance measurement — cookieless and without storing personal user profiles. Without your consent these services are not loaded.

Your consent is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future — via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. We do not currently use any further analytics or marketing services (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Pixel); should we do so in future, this will likewise only happen after your consent.

6. Your rights

You have the right at any time to information (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

7. Automated processes & AI transparency

The booking assistant used on this website is a rule-based, automated assistant (not an AI system and not a real person). It makes no automated decisions with legal effect within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR; your entries are transmitted to us by email and stored for appointment management (see section 4).

Since 2 August 2026 the transparency obligations under Art. 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the EU AI Act) have applied. We therefore state openly where artificial intelligence is involved:

• Editorial content such as our guide articles is created partly with AI support. Such articles carry a visible notice and are reviewed by us before publication.
• The booking assistant on this website is rule-based and works without AI. It is labelled as an automated assistant so it is clear that no real person is answering.
• The photographs used on this website are real and not AI-generated.
• The website is available in six languages. The German texts are written by us; the English, Turkish, French, Spanish and Polish versions were translated with AI support. The German version is always the authoritative one.

Should we in future use AI systems that interact directly with you or generate images, audio or video, we will tell you clearly in advance.
